Based in South East London, Composer Barney Quinton has worked on Film, TV, Commercials, Radio, Video Art and Animation, since 1999. He started his career in the Animation industry in Soho, and as a DJ in the 1990’s. He worked in the Animation Industry, on sound effects, and Music. Leading to a long career in all things music. Composed the music for short film "Dormez-vouz?" by Susan Aldworth for her latest exhibition "The Dark Self" - York
The soundtrack is 24 mins of generative music, and a world first. The entire piece was recorded in one night using electrical signals from the brain, converting these into analogue and digital music. "The Dark Self" is a major new exhibition by Susan Aldworth exploring the experience of sleep. A highly original and experimental artist known for her unorthodox printmaking techniques and philosophical investigations into the human brain and identity, Aldworth challenges us to consider what happens to the self in the dark time of sleep.
